An immersive three-day suspension retreat in the mountains outside Xalapa, Mexico featuring zipline suspensions, jungle suspensions, community meals, cabin lodging, and an optional traditional Temazcal ceremony for those who opt in.
Xalapa Zipline Suspensions gathers a small group of practitioners and participants of all experience levels for several days of suspensions and rest in the mountains of central Veracruz.
Although the event is called Xalapa Zipline Suspensions, the actual retreat location is in the nearby village of Teocelo, Veracruz - about 45 minutes from Xalapa.

Most international attendees fly into Mexico City (MEX). Some attendees may fly into Veracruz directly. Mexico City is usually less expensive and offers more international connections.
Most attendees take an ADO bus from Mexico City to Xalapa. The bus ride is approximately 4 hours. ADO buses are comfortable, modern, and commonly used for long-distance travel in Mexico. Platino and GL lines both have restrooms onboard. Book tickets via the ADO app or website.
Shuttle transportation from Xalapa to the retreat is included. Departure point: Abracadabra Tattoos & Piercings, Xalapa, Veracruz. Shuttle departs the morning of November 9. Attendees are responsible for getting themselves to Xalapa before shuttle departure.
November weather in Veracruz can include rain and humidity. Prepare for changing outdoor conditions - warm days, cool nights, and the occasional downpour.
Born in Mondariz, Spain, Alex became a body piercer in 1998. In 2004, he traveled to Mexico, where he was introduced to body suspension and body modification. In 2010, he founded the Indigenak suspension crew, which remains active today and has facilitated suspensions in more than 20 countries. He also co-organizes the Hang You suspension retreat in Spain and is currently based in Berlin at Der Grimm Tattoo, where he performs piercings, suspensions, and body modification work.

Born in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, Jose Roberto Ruiz, known as Chango, has worked as a piercer and body modifier for 25 years. He currently works at Abracadabra Tattoos & Piercings and has been facilitating suspensions for 19 years. During that time, he has participated in and organized events such as Campamento de Suspensiones Mexico and Dia de Muertos en el Mexico Prehispanico, and he is currently part of the organizing team behind Xalapa Zipline Suspension. He approaches suspension as an offering and ritual, and continues to learn with the goal of creating safe, purposeful suspension experiences.
